Bilateral Contracts for Distributed Generation Resources (Small-Scale Thermal Plants)

Tavanir has promulgated the instruction for bilateral electricity contracts by small-scale thermal power plants. The most important provisions of the announced executive procedure can be mentioned as follows:
•    The request for a small-scale thermal generator for concluding a bilateral contract must be submitted to the relevant regional electricity company.
•    The maximum capacity of the bilateral contract is limited to 70% of the nominal capacity of the intended power plant.
•    Before the implementation of the cross-subsidy instruction, the bilateral contract is only applicable to industrial category of consumers.  
•    Until the preparation of the required infrastructures, the interregional bilateral contracts are prohibited.
