The volume of capacity certificate contract transactions reached 2282 megawatts.

The total volume of capacity certificate contract transactions in the energy exchange reached 2282 megawatts from the beginning of the capacity certificate market (1398) to the end of December 2023.

According to the public relations report, based on the report of Iran's electricity market deputy, 360 subscribers above 5 megawatts have been introduced to the energy exchange company to receive capacity certificates, after which 731 transactions have been made in the energy exchange capacity certificate trading hall.

According to this report, the total value of transactions carried out in the trading hall of capacity certificates of the Energy Exchange has been around 57,970 billion Rials, and the maximum price traded in this market has been 93 million Rials per kilowatt.

According to this report, so far, 4924 megawatts of capacity certificate purchase requests have been submitted to the Energy Exchange by subscribers above 5 megawatts from the Iranian Grid Management Company. At the end of January 2024, there are 1582 megawatt capacity certificates for supply.

It should be noted that in January of this year, 43 capacity certificate transactions with a volume of 39 megawatts and a value of 3,382 billion Rials were made.

It is worth mentioning that the capacity certificate is a negotiable document that is issued with the permission of the Ministry of Energy based on the creation of new reliable power plant capacity or the reduction of the contractual power of existing customers. The kilowatt capacity certificate unit represents the commitment to supply one kilowatt of reliable power plant capacity for an unlimited period.
