The Ministry of Energy has announced the financial flow reform plan for electricity distribution companies based on its policies regarding developing the private sector's role in electricity trading and using the power exchange's benefits, such as price transparency. On the one hand, this plan seeks to regulate the economic circulation of electricity distribution companies and change the way electricity transactions are transferred from the wholesale market to the power exchange.
Mostafa Rajabi Mashhadi pointed out that the financial turnover of electricity distribution companies has been improved, and the accounts of these companies have been charged with 30 thousand billion Rials since the beginning of May 21st and announced the transaction of over 24 thousand billion Rials by electricity distribution companies until the end of June 1st.
He added: The share of off-market transactions in April of this year was around 20%, which increased by 100% to around 40% in May with the presence of electricity distribution companies in the power exchange.
The spokesperson of the electricity industry predicted that the share of energy exchange transactions will increase to over 50% in June.
