In explaining the new electricity purchase mechanism of electricity distribution companies, the vice president of the electricity market of Iran Grid Management Company made a comparison of electricity prices in the electricity market, energy exchange and green exchange and advised the electricity distribution companies to purchase the required electricity from the energy exchange as much as possible. 
Hamidreza Bagheri added: Currently, 59% of the energy needed by industries above one megawatt is supplied from the energy exchange or bilateral contracts, and for industries less than one megawatt, we are also considering strengthening retailers with the aim of increasing off-market transactions.
