From 20 March to 21 September 2024, the share of out-of-market transactions reached 45% of the total volume of electricity transactions

According to a report from the "Over-the-Counter Transaction" office, the total volume of out-of-market electricity transactions, which includes both energy exchange and bilateral agreements, reached approximately 95 billion kilowatt-hours from 20 March to 21 September 2024, accounting for about 45% of all electricity transactions. The deputy of the electricity market at the Iran Grid Management Company stated that in the mentioned period, out-of-market transactions made up 45% of total electricity deals, with the energy exchange contributing about 32% and bilateral transactions representing 13%.

The report also highlighted that from 22 August to 21 September alone, out-of-market transactions totaled 20 billion kilowatt-hours, equivalent to 54% of total electricity trades. Overall, electricity transactions from 20 March to 21 September 2024 amounted to 213 billion kilowatt-hours, with 22 August to 21 September transactions reaching 37 billion kilowatt-hours.
