Summary

This report presents brief introductory
and key facts of IREMA performance.

The following points draw an overview on
the IREMA statistics:
• The total wholesale cost of load serving
during the fiscal year was about 629,532

Billion Rials that manifests 46% of growth
with respect to the previous year.
• The total electricity generated was 367,724
GWh which shows about 6% increase compared

to the last year.
• Annual purchased energy through the spot
market, was 313,007 GWh, which increased
2% compared to the previous year.

• The volume of trades in bilateral contracts and
Energy Exchange, which hereafter will be referred
to as “over the counter trade”, was 55,138 GWh
that represented 31% of growth in comparison

with the previous fiscal year.
• The natural gas had the greatest contribution in
the fuel portfolio of the thermal power plants and
volume of the consumed natural gas was 74 Billion

m during the fiscal year.

• Frequency control forms the main remuneration
stream among the ancillary services. The total revenue
of the power plants from providing the frequency

control services was 6,970 Billion Rials during the fiscal
year that represents 19% of increase with respect to the
last year.
