6. Fuel Consumption
Figure 13 depicts the amount of consumed by thermal power plants
during the fiscal year. It is clear that natural gas was the dominant
primary energy in Iran power generation sector. The annual natural gas
consumption increased by 2.4% compared to the last fiscal year.
As regards liquid fuel consumption, it dropped to its lowest level in
spring and then gradually reached its peak in winter.
7. Transmission Cost
Since RECs are the owners of the transmission system in IREMA, the

transmission cost is paid to them to remunerate their costs. According to
Figure 14, the highest amount of transmission cost was recorded in winter.
